Night Light

This google presentation is all about a night light. The night light that this presentation talks about is the moon. The purpose of this night light presentation was to read an article about the moon and how it's gravity affects the tides and then answer the questions in this google presentation.

Heat On The Move

This is our group diagram that we created about the Heat Transfer Process. We found these facts on the text that we read called Warming up and Cooling Down. My partner Mitchell and I created this diagram. Please feel welcome to leave a comment if you like.

Staying Warm, Keeping Cool

This presentation was our task for this week. We had to write about the differences of how human, huskies and seals keep warm. For the last few slides we had to find a partner from our group to work with. Check out our diagram that my partner and I created.

Multiplication Challenge

Today in numeracy class we started off with a warm up which was a maths grid. This activity helps us to get faster at answering multiplication questions. My time for completing this was 6:22 minutes. Next time we do the maths grid I want to get a faster time then I did before. 

Thinkboard

For this weeks thinkboard we have learnt to multiply decimals. As you must have already noticed, when you multiply decimals the answer is smaller than the equation.

Year 7 Fun Week

It was a Wednesday morning and most of the team 5 students were really motivated because it was the day for the year eights to take off to camp. It was also the year sevens fun week where we got to do all sorts of fun learning.

As usual we started school at 8:30 and we had the karakia and mihi in the morning with the year eights. We got the chance to say goodbye to the year eights before they left and when they did leave, us year sevens took their position in being the leaders for the school.

First of all we watched a movie called ‘From Boys To Men’, created by the James Cook high school in Manurewa. We only watched half of the whole movie and one of our teacher was involved in a little bit of the film.

When we returned on Thursday to school we started creating Lei beds to welcome back the year eights on Friday. We also finished off watching the rest of ‘Boys to Men’ and we created a review about it.  One of the other tasks some people decided to do, was create our own posters about ‘Boys to Men’.

It was Friday morning the day for the year eights to return and take the lead again for the school. On that Friday, it was the last day of the term so the year sevens celebrated by have a mince and cheese lunch together.  We had the time to finish off our Lei beds too.

This is the second week of term 3 and we have still been learning more about decimals. Decimals are equivalent to fractions.

I’m applying for the position of bank teller. This job is perfect for me because I am an organised person and is able to learn things quickly.

I think I am perfect for this job because I’m an honest person who people can really trust. For example one day in school I found 20 pcs that Mr Goodwin dropped but he didn’t know. I picked it up and gave it to him and he gave me 50 pcs back to me for being honest. I am a sensible person and can do my job perfectly.

Ski trip

Walt: read and use new vocab

This week we read text about a character named Anthony who raise's money for a ski trip thier class they were going on. We created poster's for Anthony so that he could get payed for doing things for people.

Problem Solving

Walt: add and subtract decimals
Again this week we have been focusing on adding and subtracting decimals. Here are one of the solutions I did last week. On Monday, Lanzie walked 6.9 kilometres. On Tuesday, he walked 1.9 kilometres less than he had walked on Monday. How far did Lanzie walk on Tuesday?I think it is 5.0 for example if you were to add 1.9 to something to get to 6.9 it is 5.0.
