Reviewing a game

Name of Game: 60 seconds Link to Game: Burger Run
How do you score/ win: You get to the end of the level
Difficulty: 2/10
Fun: 10/10
Description:

I enjoy this game very much in fact I enjoy it more than Unlucky Robber. In this game I didn't get pass level one because it was a little hard. What I like about this game is when the character smashes into the bricks.

Between these two games I find Unlucky Robber harder than this game because this game is a side scrolling game and unlucky robber goes up wards. I like playing lots of different games but not hard ones. I enjoy this game because it's not as hard as Unlucky Robber.

The reason why I rate this game as a 10/10 fun because the character is funny looking. I also rate this game 2/10 difficulty because the only hard part was being near the spikes which I didn't like.

Remembering ANZAC

Last week on Friday our school had a special assembly about ANZAC. Mr. Burt told us some information about ANZAC then we went outside to our field of remembrance. We had one minute of silence. ANZAC stands for Australia, New Zealand army corps. People wear poppies to remember those soldiers who fort for us in world war one. At the place they had the war there were loads of wild poppies that grew after the battle was over. To some people the poppies show how much blood was on that ground where the terrible battle was held. World war one is the first world war also known as the great war.

A few days ago I have been finding some information about world war 1. I have found out that Private William Ham was the first New zealander to die in the war. He died on the 3rd of February 1915. When he had died the rest of the New zealanders helped defeat Suez Canal from an attack by Ottoman troops. Private William Ham died because of extreme injuries.

World war 1 was caused by Gavrilo Princip because he assassinated a man called Archduke Franz Ferdinand and his wife Sophie then eventually the war began. On the 5th of August 1914 1 p.m New zealand received the outbreak of the war. All of the New zealanders were very excited when they went to war but they didn’t know they were going though. When they had the battle they refused to kill each other.

They used trenches to hide from the enemy’s because if they didn’t have trench's they’d be seen and get shot. The soldier’s have dogs to help them in the war. They use dogs because they can run a lot faster than human and they also use dogs to carry messages around for help. Sometimes when soldiers are hurt in a shell hole where shells were exploded it would be hard for the other soldiers to come find them if there were lots of shell holes.

This nasty war happened 100 years ago before I was ever born. The New Zealand soldiers fort for us in the war so we would live. After this war happened most of the soldier’s went back home without some body parts, some didn’t even go home because they were dead and some went home after many years. Now we all wear poppies to remember the soldiers who died for us in this terrible event.

The first thing I did well at was sentence beginnings. I am really proud about my writing because most of the sentences had different beginnings. I am happy that I don’t have any ones in my writing rubric. In my writing the easiest part was the introduction. What I had trouble in was explaining why they had dogs in the war. In my next piece of writing I hope that I’ll be better at explaining things.

I have realised that I need to do better putting vocabulary in my writing. I didn’t remember to ask a few questions in my writing so next time I’ll be sure to add that into it. The next time I write I will add all the things I’ve forgotten to put in to my writing. My writing next time will hopefully be better at writing than it is now.

My goal for writing is to add questions and lots of vocabulary. I have chosen this because I want it to be interesting. I also hope that I will add lots of punctuation too.

Reviewing a game

How do you score/ win: Go through the door way in the wall.

Difficulty: 4/10

Fun: 6/10
Description: To win this game you have to enter the door way in the wall. When you win you gain money and you are able to by some things from the shop and you unlock level two. In this game you only use the arrow button that points up.

While you are playing you collect animals that are made out of gold. They give you more money. When the person is o the wall it slips down so make sure it stays on the swirling balls.

I rate this game as 6 out of 10 fun because I love playing games. I gave this game 4 out 10 difficulty because the person jumps side wards which is hard because it doesn't go where I wants you to go.

Creating A Side Scrolling Game

Walt: create a side scrolling game

We played Mega Man and Super Mario Brothers to help us in making our own side scrolling game. We have to make up our own person and back round for our side scrolling game. In your game the person moves side ways.

My Special Holiday

File:Swimming pool underwater
Hey would you like to hear about my special holiday well here it goes. On the second week of the school holiday’s my family went to the Glen Innes pools. We swam for a very long time and we kept on going into different sized pools. When we were swimming my parents were taking photo’s of us.

I spent most of my time swimming in the big pool because my family was in that pool playing lots of water games. While we were all in the big pool I saw Hare and her son Hendrix swimming together.  I spent some time in the tiny pool with my younger sister who’s only six years old because she couldn’t reach the ground in the other pools.

When all of us got bored of being in the big pool we shifted to the medium sized pool. I really enjoyed being in the medium sized pool because when me and my sister’s went into the water my younger sister would keep laughing when we saw her under water.

Next we got out and had some snacks and some sandwiches and also a drink before we went back into the water. When we went back in we played passes in the water. My favourite part of going to the pools was watching my little sister laugh underwater and also listening to her laugh. I hope the next holiday I would do something with my family again but in a different place.

Wonderful Water

Walt: identify things and what it will look like if the water is clean or not clean.

We learnt about new words like Algae witch is the green slime that sticks on stones in creeks. I also learnt that stone fly's, may fly's and caddis fly's only stay in very clean water and that is a good sign. Snails, worms and animal poo would be a bad sign because if it is in the creek than the water would get dirty.
